although this update is not how i anticipated my initial entry, recent events make it seem most appropriate. i don't have any real answers for many of the questions people are asking me. ultimately at this point, i am in prayer and requesting that you are as well. the carlins (the family i will be working with in haiti) have been in the states for the last week and are therefore safe. however we have not been able to contact anyone at the project in haiti to gather information about the impact of the earthquake to the people or structures on the compound. originally the plan was to arrive in haiti on february 3rd, but we have no ideas at this point whether we will maintain that schedule or need to change it in any way.
all i can say is that i will keep everyone posted as i receive the information.
